System Engineer at Evenstar Sdn Bhd

The installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring and maintenance of operating systems in support of operational system(s) and/or development environment.

The systematic management of documentation, software, hardware and firmware IS assets.

Job Responsibilities – Assists in investigating, diagnosing and resolving problems and incidents as directed. – Works as a team member on Pro-active Unix systems management
Examples: security management and tool management – Documents the analysis, implementation, review and test of proposed changes to structures, linking them to defects and problems reported where applicable. – Maintains a good understanding of the disposition and capacity of installed system components and the capacity and performance implications of their interworking. – Maintains awareness of existing and future service commitments and the configuration designs associated with them. – Maintain and evergreen the testlab inventories and equipment configurations. – Process testlab requests and ensuring testlab users comply to the lab processes and procedures and take part in managing, tracking and scheduling equipment usages. – Ensure changes are being applied in accordance with change management procedures and aligned with Trust Domain requirements. – Act as focalpoint for receiving, labeling, and sorting of new equipments into the testlab. – Ensure monthly testlab usage statistics are made available to the management. – Rebuilding of servers/desktops based on Shell standards. – Ensure proper patch-level and configuration for the SAN equipments, network switches/routers, and proper network and fiber cabling are being laid. – Setting up new servers/equipments. – Prompt and efficient in responding to customers.

Optional Tasks: – Enrolls users, maintains system security, controls and monitors user access to databases. – Backs up and restores operating system files and or databases, maintaining archived backup data on tape or other medium. – Assists in planning and monitoring utilization and capacity for current and proposed systems, including changes, by performing defined tasks.

Skills Required:
-Must have atleast 4 years working experience as a System Engineer
