Job Description

Overview
This position is responsible for managing one project or multiple projects with a low degree of risk applying CA Services Best Practice Methodologies in the course of managing engagements.

Key Responsibilities
Produce a Statement of Work and Project Plans with the Business Technologist for qualified customer implementations ensuring projects are scoped accurately.

Produce Trial Documents for qualified presale trials.
Assist the Consulting/Delivery Manager to pick the appropriate staff for a project or trial in accordance with the project/trial schedule.
Manage the staff assigned to a project.

Manage an engagement in accordance with the Engagement Management Model and CA’s Best Practices Methodologies, making any relevant adjustments during the course of the project and securing customer agreement to such changes.

Keep the customer aware of possible risks and appropriate contingencies.

Achieve quality of desired results during an engagement.
Appropriate architecture is produced and adhered to for each project.
Ensure that personnel assigned to the engagement account for their time in CA’s standard time recording system.

Ensure that all costs, billable and non-billable, associated with an engagement are captured and reported.

Complete project (e.g. on time delivery, within budget, high quality, etc.) within the Best Practices guidelines of Computer Associates.
Recommend improvements to project methods and processes
Update and manage escalation projects using appropriate tools in a timely manner.

Personal utilization targets and profitability targets are achieved.
Execute weekly PM tasks as defined by the Project Management Methodology.

Leadership /TeamBuilding
Provide guidance and direction to team members.
Define personal development goals and training plan as part of the career development program.

Provide, to the rest of the management team, feedback on consultants, projects, lost opportunities, and lessons learned.

Requirements
Typically requires 3 years minimum work experience plus IT industry experience with 1 to 2 years or more experience planning, installing, configuring and implementing distributed, server-based computing environments. Includes 2 or more years project management experience.

Specific Skills and Certifications
Active PMI Certification. Demonstrated ability to analyze IT business requirements, define/design appropriate IT solution, create detailed project plans and schedules, and monitor/control project execution. Ability to communicate project status to customer and to Delivery Manager and write Statement of work to ensure project is meeting customer expectations.
Ability to work closely with Sales, BT, Architect, and customers to develop and manage implementation phase. Strong ability to manage day-to-day SoW implementation details of project to ensure project is meeting timelines and objectives. Experience in managing implementation projects. Self-starter mentality and strong leadership skills.
