Job Description

NATURE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:
This is a senior systems engineer role where you will be providing 3rd level remote application and server support to a multinational company, with servers deployed in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting problems in this environment and have a passion for quality service in the infrastructure space.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
The engineer will be required to be on call 24×7, with a frontline service desk fielding all initial calls. A backup resource will be available in Sydney and you will work with the sydney based team for ongoing mentoring and support.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
•Minimum
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft operating systems like Windows 98, Windows Millennium and Windows XP
Sound problem solving skills with linear and logical troubleshooting skills
The ability to troubleshoot all problems in a clear and logical manner
Working knowledge of high end PC hardware, including networking and storage technologies and familiarity with architecture of Intel-based PCs
Working knowledge of PC Hardware
Writing skills including the ability to understand technical terminology as well as excellent written english
•Important
Citrix experience
Documentation abiliities
Excellent communication skills (Client facing english)
Exchange server 5.5/2000/2003 administration experience
Monitoring experience with tools like NetIQ
Proven windows server managment skills

CCNA
Cisco experience
Full MSCE 2003
SQL 2000/ 2005
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
•Minimum
Ability to communicate resolutions of technical problems quickly and clearly
Ability to develop and implement plans in order to accomplish set goals.
Ability to manage change within an organisation and team in order to meet business goals and objectives.
Ability to work in a team environment supporting staff
Excellent telephone manner and call handling skills
Good command of English and writing skills
Strong customer service focus with the ability to empathise aswell as prioritise customers need
Typing speed of 30-40 words per minute
